Right from our first telephone conversation and subsequent meeting, Martin’s professional yet friendly and relaxed manner put me right at ease. He listened and understood exactly what style of photographs Steven and I wanted as a reminder of our special day and talked us through what to expect from him and Julie on our wedding day. I’m not particularly good at having my photograph taken, nor do i enjoy it very much but Martin’s help, advice and encouragement during the pre-wedding shoot at Ogmore- by-Sea diminished any nerves i had and meant that by the morning of the wedding i was ‘ready for my close-up!’

Martin and Julie truly were the dream team at our wedding. Right from the bridal preparations to our first dance Martin and Julie’s calm and focussed approach to wedding photography made everyone look relaxed and happy, including the posing of some of the more awkward family groups together, bravo both! Their passion and enthusiasm for what they do really came across and many guests commented on what a fantastic and fun photographer we had booked!

The most touching thing is that i really feel that Martin and Julie took special care to make sure that Steven and i weren’t just another wedding. They captured our personalities as a couple and as individuals perfectly and the wedding photos really express the emotion, fun and love between us and our daughter Chloe on the day and the special relationships we have with family members and friends.

The most important thing throughout our wedding planning was to choose the perfect photographer and I can confidently say that we did that with Martin. Martin you truly are amazing! From the moment we met you and Julie, your friendly, easy going, yet professional attitude stood out. You listened and understood exactly what we wanted and guided us on what to expect on the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our pre wedding photo shoot and it helped ease our nerves on the big day.

We love your enthusiasm and your passion for what you do and this definitely reflects in your work. There were so many beautiful photographs to choose from; we found it impossible to choose! On the day, we had a little nightmare with the cars but kind words and a relaxed attitude from both Martin and Julie put me at ease whilst everyone else was in panic mode. All our guests have commented on how great and friendly you were on the day and how it felt like you were two extra wedding guests. You were both so helpful and I cannot thank you enough for this.

When our daughter Megan was born, we were desperate to have a memory of her as a tiny baby. So many people had rightly told us that the baby stage doesn't last long. You were our obvious choice, as we had frequented the gallery on an almost weekly basis, and already had a picture of an amazing sunset at Sker Beach. However, the photos of Megan and us were more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. You captured the most incredible moments, and showed our feelings in each and every one. The photos of Occy (the Golden Retriever - our first baby) were also stunning, and captured her personality perfectly. We were so proud when you used Megan's photo on your business card, and handed them out to everyone. Thank you so much for creating a snapsnot of our baby at just one week old. 

Also, thank you for the incredible other services you have given. The four print composite in a frame suited us perfectly because it really was too difficult to choose between all the gorgeous shots. Thank you most of all for hand delivering a replacement picture to Sydney, when the original was damaged in transit. That really was above and beyond!

Martin and Julie were amazing!!

Martin's passion and chilled attitude came across from the first meeting, he was enthusiastic about our plans for the wedding and he put us both at ease. We got a much better feel for how the day would work after Martin took us on our pre-wedding shoot in the grounds where the reception would be held, again his method was relaxed, un-complicated and fun.

On the day, Martin and Julie were fantastic, they fitted in with the other guests at the wedding which was great, and got some beautiful shots. We can't say how much it meant to us, it really went a long way to making the day complete. Martin took time to understand the theme of the wedding and created shots at locations that he thought expressed this, we were pleased that he had done this as we would not have been confident or adventurous enough to have asked for it.

The comments we received from all our guests were fantastic, we both just want to say thank you to you for making it so easy, fun and memorable. As for the quality of Martin's work, I think that if you look at his portfolio it truly speaks for itself. If you are going to trust someone with the most important day in your life you should look no further than Martin and his team.

There are so many things to choose once you've decided on your wedding day! Your marriage will last a lifetime but the special little details which take so much thought and attention can be easily forgotten. That's why we needed a photographer who would capture all the little details as a lasting reminder. That was Martin!

Martin and Julie were there right from the beginning. They took an interest in us not just as photographers, but as friends. I think that's what made the day so relaxing. Both Nath and I were keen to have relaxed photographs without too much posing for the camera but the kids had other ideas and were happy to put on a show! Martin managed to capture everyone's personality.

Looking through our album we can really feel the atmosphere of our wedding day all over again. It's like a beautiful story and it’s very emotional. A few weeks before the wedding an excited Martin called to say the sun was just right on the seafront for a pre-wedding shoot! We even visited the wedding venue together for a practice session which was great fun and really helped on the day as we had special areas in mind for some great shots.

On the morning of the wedding Martin managed to capture the atmosphere and the build up of emotion. Julie was fantastic with kind words to calm the nerves! The whole service was captured perfectly yet we were really unaware that a photographer was even there! Martin and Julie were so organised and unimposing and some of our favourite shots were taken without us even realising! I think Martin and Julie's friendly, laid back approach helped everyone relax in front of the camera and that really comes across in the album. The hardest thing of all was choosing the photographs for the album itself!

By the time we came back from our Honeymoon, Martin had created the most perfect combination of shots and had included absolutely every detail from the lacing up of my dress and the buttoning of Nathan’s cuffs, to the first dance and the twirling of the dresses! It's one of our most treasured possessions, we can truly say we'll never forget a single detail.

Thank you both so much for helping to make our wedding day so magical, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. You were calm, cool and very with it throughout the day which is just what we needed. You helped to organise the guests extremely well and provided a firm word when appropriate instead of me having to lose my rag (not attractive for a bride - but it's the school teacher in me!)

Martin had previously taken pictures of our baby daughter and I was so delighted with them I decided to book him for our wedding on March 20th 2010. Again I was not let down, the pictures and the album told the whole story from start to finish capturing the colours, the splendour, the atmosphere, and we were more than pleased.

I don't even know where to start. I have always known what a fabulous photographer Martin was, but having a very small personal wedding, it was just as important (if not more) to have a photographer that I connected well with, who I felt comfortable sharing our special day with. After all, we could only invite 40 people, but having Martin and Julie as our photographers was like having an extra two family members. We got married in a very secluded setting in the Andalucian mountains. The day before the wedding Martin was off exploring the area for perfect photo locations and taking test shots, repeating the process at different times to get the best light. So when it came to the day itself he knew exactly where to go and when to get the perfect photo, which was amazing - although it did make the final process of choosing the album shots impossible!

I think what I am trying to say is that if you are looking for a good, run of the mill photographer, then there are hundreds to choose from, but if you want photos that will be as special as your day, artistic, classic and matched to your personality, a team who go above and beyond to make sure you feel as comfortable, relaxed and as special as you deserve on your big day - then look no further than Martin Phillips photography.
