We were delighted to be asked to photograph this beautiful Coombe Lodge Summer Wedding for Tamsyn and Dan last September. The weather was a little blustery and showery, but it didn’t stop us capturing all the lovely moments through the day and evening. We worked once again with the very calm and talented Wedding Filmmaker Simon Huntley The fantastic flowers full of our favourite Foxgloves had a natural and wild look and were created by Grace at Bramble and Wild. One of the highlights of the day was Tamsyn and Dan’s awesome ‘first dance’, carefully choreographed by the graceful Bride! What a great band too, The HipCats got everyone on the dance floor with their irresistible beat! More pictures from Tamsyn and Dan’s day can be viewed here: Coombe Lodge Somerset...
Coombe Lodge Winter Wedding

Coombe Lodge Winter Wedding

Coombe Lodge Winter Wedding We photographed this beautiful Coombe Lodge Winter Wedding for Laurie and Tim just after Christmas. They came home from New Zealand to get married amongst their families and friends at the stunning Coombe Lodge. Before we headed to Somerset we called at the family home in Cardiff so that Laurie’s very special Nan could see her in her wedding dress. We worked throughout the day and evening with the brilliant young filmmaker Ben Walton and his brother Sam. It was an absolute pleasure, even if a group of guests assumed that they were our Sons. I have to (reluctantly) admit it was an easy mistake to have made! Once again during this last year we enjoyed the incredible hospitality of the fantastic staff at Coombe Lodge. It’s truly one of our favourite venues. The Bride’s dress was a very special couture creation carried as hand luggage through three airports, all the way from Auckland! Laurie chose an understated look for the flowers, perfectly wintery white Ranunculus, stylishly created by The Wilde Bunch in Bristol. The weather doesn’t really matter that much when getting married at Coombe Lodge. This spectacular wedding venue has gorgeous, well lit interiors as well as amazing gardens with views out to the Bristol Channel. The candlelit rooms, amazingly good food and very jolly atmosphere kept the Christmas spirit going for another few days! The champagne flowed endlessly as the party atmosphere picked up and we finally headed outside for sparklers and dancing under the Moon. Destination Wedding Photographer Portugal

Destination Wedding Photographer Portugal

Destination Wedding Photographer Portugal When we get to the middle of a British winter, the cold and rain often makes us dream of warmer climates. Occasionally we are asked to head further afield to photograph a wedding. On this occasion it was to the beautiful (and hot!) Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira on the Algarve coast in Portugal. We are always delighted when a date fits so neatly into our busy Summer schedule. As an experienced Destination Wedding Photographer Portugal, the opportunity to photograph this beautiful Algarve wedding for Hannah and Owen was perfect for us. Set on the amazing Portuguese south coast, it was a delight to be involved in. We just loved the chilled vibe! The main part of the wedding day started at 3.30pm after the sun had started to lose a little of it’s heat in the beautiful Tabu Garden. There followed a very long and delicious wedding breakfast as the sun set behind the pines. Following the speeches everyone headed to the beach bar for an amazing evening of fun and frolics under the stars. I have to say that the wedding band ‘The Originals’ were probably the best we’ve ever danced to! Especially after the obligatory Jagermeister ordered by the Bride’s Brother! Jules even had to wade waist deep in the sea, at midnight, to backlight Hannah and Owen as they strolled along the beach for our final photographs. We were delighted to be asked to fly out to the Algarve and be part of this most amazing of wedding days. Here is a slideshow of some of our favourite images, follow the link to Vimeo: Destination...
The Barn at West Farm Wedding

The Barn at West Farm Wedding

What a fantastic day at this gorgeous The Barn at West Farm wedding Set on the cliffs at Ogmore by Sea, South Wales, The Barn at West Farm is an amazing venue. Especially when the sun shines! Gwenno and Richard had just about the most perfect day, we loved being there!! Our local knowledge came in handy for a quick side trip to our favourite photo spot just down the coast. The Barn at West Farm Wedding was also featured in the Spring issue of Your South Wales Wedding magazine. Our first stop was in Cowbridge for the Bride and Groom preparation pictures. The apartments above Penny Farthing Café are perfect for the girls. Town and Country (they have The Bear Hotel amongst others) also have other apartments, ideal for the boys. We headed off to Ogmore by Sea to catch the guests arriving and waited for the arrival of the bride – quite a long time! The wait was worth it, of course, Gwenno and the bridesmaids looked absolutely beautiful. A packed barn watched a delightful bi-lingual ceremony and everyone joined in to sing the beautiful Welsh folk song Ar Lan y Môr. The special thing about The Barn at West Farm is that the reception is held in a very pretty marquee, tucked at the rear of the building. It looks out across the sea to the hills of Exmoor on the North Somerset coast. Quite a spectacular location for a wedding! Hensol Castle Wedding Photographers

Hensol Castle Wedding Photographers This Summer as Hensol Castle Wedding Photographers we were delighted to photograph several Hensol Castle Weddings. The splendid wedding of Victoria and Oliver started with the ceremony in Holy Cross Church in Cowbridge. A magnificent reception followed at Hensol Castle photographed by Hensol Castle Wedding Photographers, Martin and Jules Phillips. We are delighted to share our pictures of Victoria and Oliver’s wedding day. It all started at the family house, then moved on to Holy Cross church in Cowbridge for the main event. The rain was biblical for the guest arrivals, a[[ flood in the road outside church tested the ingenuity of the ushers to the limit. Luckily the limit for ex Millfield boys is pretty high! Martin and our favourite videographer Richard Shelton of Aurora Films got quite soggy, waiting for Victoria’s Arrival. Victoria and her Dad finally arrived, delayed only slightly as they tried to leave the house in the rain storm. Happily the sun began to shine just as the vicar came out of church, he gave us one of the best days of the Summer! Hensol Castle just gets better each year, it looks truly spectacular in Summer sunshine. Each time we visit there have been more improvements to the building. There were huge swathes of very beautiful flowers everywhere, thanks to Hilary’s Flowers of Abergavenny. Thanks also to Liz Jones of Chair Covers and Bows for the amazing tables and chairs decorations. It all started with a rainstorm in Cowbridge and ended with a glorious sunset at Hensol Castle. It’s definitely one of our favourite wedding venues in South Wales! Enjoy Victoria and Oliver’s wedding slideshow, a highlights reel of our favourite images from the day. Hensol Castle Wedding from Martin Phillips Studio on Vimeo. Hensol Castle...

Hensol Castle Wedding South Wales

Hensol Castle Wedding South Wales – a preWedding photoshoot for Victoria and Oliver We like to meet up with each of our wedding clients a month or so before their Hensol Castle Wedding South Wales. It was a warm and sunny day in early April when we spent an afternoon at one of our favourite locations with Victoria and Oliver. It’s a very valuable time forging a closer relationship with our delightful couples. Soon we will spend a whole day photographing the happy couple and their family and friends, in some of the most emotional and personal moments of their lives. We know that the time and effort at this stage will produce beautiful and natural wedding photographs. It also makes the experience more relaxed and enjoyable for Victoria and Oliver. We photograph weddings at Hensol Castle several times a year and yet it never fails to inspire us with it’s beautiful landscaped gardens and lake. We will soon be spending a whole day and evening photographing this beautiful pair in such amazing surroundings. You can take a look at their wedding photographs here: Hensol Castle Wedding South Wales A favourite location for many of our clients is Dunraven Bay. Also known locally as Southerndown Beach, it offers not just a beach but also a beautiful walled garden and woodland. Here are just a few of my personal favourites from the couple of hours we spent together.   Hensol Castle Wedding South...
