This is especially important if you plan to get married between May and October.

Miskin Manor for a March Wedding and Much Movie Madness

Nicole and Steve popped down from Selly Oak in the Midlands to finalise their wedding plans for their Miskin Manor wedding at the beginning of March. We took the opportunity of spending some quality time with them at Southerndown Beach for a fun pre-wedding photoshoot. We did have to circle round the filming of the next series of ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ (I still can’t believe how many trucks and people it takes to film a few short scenes, check out the endless crew list at the end of any film or TV show!). Well, we managed very nicely with the three of us and have some lovely results to take along to the wedding for their guests to sign with messages of love and joy.

Best Wishes to Kate and Neil for their Wedding on Saturday!

We are really looking forward to our first wedding of the year starting off in our own hometown of Porthcawl. Kate and Neil will be married at the beautiful St John’s Church, Newton, Porthcawl before moving on to their reception at Blanco’s Hotel in Port Talbot, we may even stop off at Margam Castle for some romantic shots on the way!!

St Valentine’s Day Wedding at the St David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay

Martin met up with Paula and Gavin last week for their pre-wedding photographs at their wedding venue in Cardiff Bay. It sounds like they have a fabulous day planned for family and friends with many unusual elements and we can’t wait to share it with them. Watch out for some stylish photos in a couple of weeks.

Great News for Emily and Chris, a Christmas Bump!!

One of our favourite weddings was Emily and Chris’ beautiful ceremony in Spain, it was a real life Mamma Mia wedding (except Emily knows who her father is!) and we are so delighted that they are soon going to become parents.

It’s always extra special when we welcome our brides and grooms back to the Studio to continue their story.  We absolutely love these maternity photos of Emily, Chris and ‘The Bump’. Of course with Chris Seage in the picture there had to be a surf board in there too. Who knows this could be a surf champ of the future!

Busy Times at the Studio

Brownie points for Ian – his wife had mentioned how much she would love a picture of her children, so with some careful planning he arranged for the family to attend a secret photo shoot and we were able to produce a fabulous framed photograph for her Birthday gift.

What does every Gran cherish? When Mum had a special birthday coming up Helen and Michael knew just what to get her, a photograph of her grandson Tomos.

A Very Special Golden Wedding Photograph After the family party the happy couple were given the gift of a formal portrait to celebrate their special anniversary by their family. Everyone enjoyed their visit to the studio last week for the photograph and then stayed on to watch Alicia have a photoshoot in her ballet outfits.

Christmas is Coming Up Fast!

We all love this time of year and its great to see lots of our Jolly little people coming to the Studio dressed ready for Santa. Esther came back in full Santa suit and she had a little helper – her new little brother aptly named Joseph – to help her this year. Mum Nicola thought this picture was just right for her Christmas cards.

Arun also had his photo taken with us in his Santa suit when he was just a baby and look at him now!

Thanks to our Cherubs Club, they have both benefitted from regular visits and a selection of wonderful pictures over their early months of life. Three fantastic photoshoots and priceless pictures for just £30!

Autumn Fun at Pink Bay

Ryan brought his lovely daughter Sophia May for another portrait session but this time we liked the idea of an Autumn shoot at Pink Bay. The results were truly beautiful in the late afternoon light and produced some memorable images, even Grandad’s dog Tito got in on the act, Sophia May thinks he is actually called Toto!

Pre Wedding Photographs are Treasured Too!

When Alistair and Denise arranged their pre wedding shoot with Martin, Denise knew that she wanted to create a style reflecting the tones and colours she had chosen for her wedding day.

Martin was able to use the fabulous lavender flowers and foliage at Dunraven gardens to create the backdrop for some really stunning pictures. Alistair and Denise love their pre shoot pictures so much that they have bought several as an extra to their actual wedding photographs for their home in Yatton.

Models in the making and what fun they have!

Teenagers just love the whole photo shoot experience, sometimes it is to put together a modelling portfolio, sometimes it is for a surprise gift for parents, sometimes it’s parents wanting that last family picture – before their much loved teenager goes off into the wide (or is it wild?) world of University or College!

Whatever the reason for a visit to our Studio, they always have a great time and thoroughly enjoy the whole experience, often bringing along outfits to create different looks. We can also organise professional hair and make up for the shoot too, so let’s glam up and get this party started!!!

This is a great gift idea and can be used at any time throughout the year.

“New House? Ooh Good, We Can Have Some of our Fab Wedding Pictures for the Walls,” Says Amy!

Amy & Jon already have a stunning Queensberry album of their favourite wedding pictures taken earlier this year at Canada Lodge and Lake in Creigiau near Cardiff, but they wanted a few statement photographs to hang in their first new home together. Martin produced their framed photographs here at the studio and a few extra prints for gifts too. We are really looking forward to photographing Jon’s sister Jane’s wedding in November and meeting up with the family again.

Laura & Steve’s Gorgeous City Hall Wedding

A beautiful bride, a fabulous venue and a rather dapper Grandfather to give the bride away, sounds like the recipe for a great wedding – and it was!

Laura looked stunning and even the torrential rain shower as she arrived at City Hall in Cardiff did not take away her beautiful smile.

Steve the proud groom was waiting for his new bride and Chloe their little girl thoroughly enjoyed being a bridesmaid. Family and friends enjoyed the personal wedding service and champagne reception in Cardiff City Hall’s impressive Marble Room. Guests were then treated to a delicious Welsh menu followed by ‘to die for’ desserts and Welsh Cheeseboard!!!

After a delightful lunch we made the most of the late afternoon sunlight amongst the trees for a few romantic shots of the newlyweds. We left them later that evening dancing the night away at the end of a perfect day.

Enjoy the Eternity with Love Wedding Fayre on 6th November at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge

We are pleased to be exhibiting this autumn at the Bear Hotel wedding Fayre. If you are planning your special day, then why not come along for a chat.

Wedding Fayres can provide you with the chance to meet lots of suppliers on one day and can be really helpful, why not enjoy the free fizz whilst browsing what is on offer.

See you there!!

Here is a selection of images from the last couple of Weddings we covered at The Bear Hotel with the first wedding starting with a ceremony at Llanblethian Church.

“Monster” Film

Martin had a great time working with Jamie Adams and his film cast and crew on this publicity shoot for the new film “Monster” which was filmed recently around Porthcawl and with post-production and editing happening at the BBC studios in Cardiff.

A few quotes from some very excited film makers:-

“Monster” is a Comedy short film with an all star cast of legends and debut performances from It’s My Shout Productions in association with BBC Wales written by Greg Glover, lensed by Huw Talfryn Walters & Directed by Jamie Adams ! Voice Over recording with Nathan Ford at Bang Post Production tomorrow! Editing at BBC Wales with Tim Hodges on Friday and Monday – the rushes are great, this will be much fun!

Rockpool fun at Rest Bay, Porthcawl – a family photo shoot

When Elin’s family bought her Studio gift vouchers for her Birthday earlier this year she decided to use them for a family photo shoot at the beach in Porthcawl.

The rocks on the beach at Rest Bay, Porthcawl are a favourite haunt for the boys when they visit their relatives in Porthcawl. They had great fun having their photographs taken messing around in rock pools and were joined later by their cousins for some extra family photographs. Jake, ‘the most excellent dog’, also joined in the fun and seemed to just appear in shot whenever he was needed. He would have a great career as a dog model if the family could spare him!!

Gorgeous Baby Photographs – This is one for the studio wall and our window display!

We just love this shot of Taliesin at 2 weeks old. His mum Alica was so thrilled when she saw it in the Studio window that she stopped a passerby to tell him, “that’s my son.”

It is great when we get that sort of reaction from out clients and makes the effort we go to creating unusual and original photographs worthwhile. You may have seen Alica’s bump pictures on Southerndown Beach a couple of weeks ago, well in no time at all Tal was born and Alica was calling the studio to make sure we captured those very precious early pictures of Alica and Daf’s newborn son.

‘Style-id’ Publicity Shoot for Personal Style Consultant Eleanor Gardner

Working with Eleanor and her team on this shoot for her new website was made easy as she had such a clear idea of what she wanted to achieve and arrived weighed down with props, clothes rails and a shots list!!

Eleanor has a thriving business as a personal style consultant and we look forward to seeing the photographs we created together on her website soon.

I (Jules) wouldn’t mind being styled myself by Eleanor – and having my colours done, hint hint…!
