Yet more gorgeousness… Oxwich Bay Wedding Photographer Gower

An unusual, yet essential part of all our wedding packages is the complimentary pre wedding photoshoot experience. This is FUN! Trust me. We usually meet at an outdoor location, a beach, an urban setting, a park, on a mountain, etc. We take some time getting to know one another whilst taking some relaxed, informal photos. This usually happens about a month before your wedding day and is an ideal time to chat about your final plans. It also puts everyone more at ease with the idea of being photographed – so the wedding day experience can be more enjoyable. Everyone loves their pre wedding shoot and the photographs too! You will get the opportunity to choose your favourite image for us to print and mount, we then bring it along to your venue where you can ask your guests to sign it as a memento. Your 10 favourites are included with your album package, but for those of you on a digital package you will have the opportunity to buy the collection on a USB flash drive.

Barn at West Farm Wedding

Barn at West Farm Wedding, South Wales Italy, South of France? No, a wedding at the Barn at West Farm, Ogmore by Sea on the Heritage Coast, South Wales! Honestly, looking out over the sea from this awesome location it was easy to imagine that we were at another destination wedding abroad! The day started with a continental feel as we caught up with the girls to do some preparation photos in Cowbridge. They were staying in the Old Wine House above the Quarter Penny Cafe which overlooked the courtyard, where brunch was being served. The interior of The Old Wine House was great for taking prep shots and the tone was set for a fabulous day ahead. Bride and bridesmaids arrived in a VW camper van at the lovely village Church of St. John the Baptist in Llanblethian where the vicar David Boult gave an amusing, sincere and memorable wedding Ceremony. I love it when brides provide confetti, it always makes for such lovely images at a Church wedding, after all this is what it’s all about, showering the happy couple with love. The Barn at West Farm is a glorious location and the marquee looked incredible!!! Rebecca and Daniel must have been planning and working on the details for months, what a beautiful scene to greet their family and friends and a treasure trove for us to photograph too. It had to be something special to tempt the guests away from enjoying the prosecco and ambience outside. One of the perks of our job is when we get to relax with a lovely meal by Town and Country... read more

Llanerch Vineyard Wedding

Llanerch Vineyard Wedding Photographer Vale of Glamorgan It’s always great to reconnect with a couple who we first met at a wedding fayre long ago and be with them to share their wedding day. Stephen and his groomsmen strolled along the country lane towards the historic St Mary’s Church in Marshfield, Cardiff, The church is also famous in more recent times for the filming of the Doctor Who christmas special “The End of Time” in 2009 where it was used for Donna’s wedding. After a hearty breakfast at Stephen and Susannah’s house, they were there to support Stephen on his big day. The girls arrived a little late, but hey, when you have a tiny baby to plan for as well as a wedding, anything can happen. Susannah looked incredibly happy and with her bridesmaids around her as she made her way into Church. After a very special Ceremony and lots of hugging and congratulations outside Church, the wedding party made their way to Llanerch Vineyard in the Vale of Glamorgan, where guests were greeted with delicious welcome drinks and canapés amongst the vines. This was a real family wedding with lots of lovely children, who clearly enjoyed the celebrations as much as the adults. Susannah and Stephen managed to tear themselves away from all the fun for a short walk around the lake with us in the early evening and enjoyed a little romantic time away from everyone (well almost everyone!) for some magical photographs amongst the wilder side of the Vineyard.       Llanerch Vineyard Wedding for Susannah and... read more

Downton Abbey Style Merthyr Mawr Wedding

Downton Abbey Style Merthyr Mawr Wedding Standing in those idyllic country lanes with thatched cottages and horse riders passing by, what could be more perfect than the arrival of Rebecca in her vintage car. It was such a fabulous sunny location for the wedding of this lovely couple and we had great fun with them when we went down the lane to Candelston Castle for their romantic post wedding photos. They were greeted into the car park by the Ospreys, who just happened to be there on a training session – it all adds to the excitement!! The reception at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, near Coychurch was really lovely as it was a fairly small wedding party, they were able to use the Eliot Restaurant which looked very stylish. Just perfect for an intimate and elegant wedding breakfast. Rebecca and Jonathan had a clear idea of the style of wedding and photography they wanted and together we created some truly memorable moments. We really enjoyed this wedding and found out that we had lots of connections with the lovely families on both sides and even with the vicar! Its a small world. Feeling the love this wedding season…   Downton Abbey Style Merthyr Mawr... read more

Wonderful Welsh Wedding

Wonderful Welsh Wedding by South Wales Wedding Photographer Sardis Chapel in Waunarlwydd was already bustling with family, guests and excited well wishers when we arrived. We knew that we were in for a proper Welsh village wedding and we were not disappointed. The Chapel looked a picture with huge lavender bushes lining the entrance, fabulous flowers adorning the door way and a flower garland above the pulpit. Thanks to Ruth Milton-Jones for making the scene so pretty with her inspired flower arrangements. I’ve lost count of how many button holes I’ve put on this year already, this group really needed some help!! Lowri and Simon are obviously a much loved couple and the crowds outside the Chapel almost outnumbered the congregation inside! Jeffrey Morgan, the Minister delivered a very personal wedding ceremony and the atmosphere inside that little Welsh Chapel was memorable. The magnificent Orangery at Margam Park was the setting for the reception and some really gorgeous photographs. We particularly loved Lowri’s magnificent hairstyle… Then there was the cake, what can we say, it looked and tasted divine. Possibly the most beautiful cake we have seen in a while. Yes, finally we got to take some cake home and it was to die for, I can see where the name comes from – Heavenly Cakes – of Llandeilo.     Wonderful Welsh Wedding by South Wales Wedding... read more

Margam Orangery Wedding Photographer

Margam Orangery Wedding Photographer South Wales Pots of glorious Scottish heather and the sound of bagpipes welcomed the guests as they arrived at Gillian and Steven’s Summer wedding. The Ceremony was conducted, in her usual caring and welcoming style, by Rev Pauline Smith at St Mary’s Church, Nolton. Everyone then headed off to the Orangery at Margam for the rest of the festivities! The crowds visiting the park on that busy Saturday enjoyed watching the wedding party arrive and John Campbell kept them entertained, we could even hear the distant pipes from Margam Castle! The Orangery at Margam really is a magnificent setting for a wedding and even more beautiful on a sunny Summer’s day. The wedding reception room looked gorgeous with the help of Gillian’s florist Walnut and Willow. When the weather and venue are so perfect it’s also a great opportunity to take a quiet walk in the evening sunlight for some really special images.       Margam Orangery Wedding Photographer South... read more

Ewenny Priory Summer Wedding

Ewenny Priory Summer Wedding – South Wales Wedding Photographer With the surge in DIY weddings at barns and fields and gardens across the country, I thought I would post a delightful summer wedding from a couple of years ago at Ewenny Priory and House. This is a spectacular setting for any wedding. A marquee is of course essential, but the rewards are that you can choose your own way of doing things. From the flowers to the caterers, everything can be bespoke. The groom’s grandmother lived here until recently, now it is available for exclusive wedding hire. It even has the most beautiful church in the county joined on to the side of the house! I don’t even know where to start. I have always known what a fabulous photographer Martin was, but it was just as important to have a photographer that I connected well with, who I felt comfortable sharing our special day with. After all, we could only invite 40 people, but having Martin and Julie as our photographers was like having an extra two family members. We got married in a very secluded setting in the Andalucian mountains. The day before the wedding Martin was exploring the area for perfect photo locations and taking test shots…

We just wanted to say thank you for the amazing job you did on our special day. We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely and helpful couple to capture the day. We are so glad we found you and are delighted with the wedding photos, and the pre-wedding shoot too. You put us at ease straight away and made something which normally makes us nervous, lots of fun! You really are a fantastic couple and are perfectly suited to working with couples about to get married! We loved hearing your stories and look forward to being as happy as you clearly are.

We both wanted to say thank you so much for our amazing pictures! We’re so happy to have such a lovely record of our day and of course of all the little details and things that we missed in the haze. The scenery looks absolutely stunning, and your pictures really do show a fabulous eye for moody skies, the beautiful hills and mountains of the Beacons! Thank you too for being so unobtrusive and working round a bride who was getting rather tense before the ceremony, as the minutes just seemed to tick by faster and faster…
